Okay, so the title pretty much speaks for itself on this. I understand there was a time when people whined about so many chatrooms but all they are doing now is taking up space....literally...in a literal sense,they are taking up memory on a server when its completely obvious that noone uses them...at all.

This is a subject that others are welcome to chime in on and give their thoughts on thinning down the selection to maybe 3 or 4 rooms at most? Not only will it get rid of the massive list of unused rooms,but it will be quicker to navigate and maybe help spread out the public 'mass' that is the Yiff room.

My Proposal

1. Leave the General Room for underage users and for general conversation.
2. Leave the Yiff Room for what it's meant for (more sexual conversations,adult behavior,etc.)
3. Maybe Extreme Room and lastly maybe one for some other random reason.

WITH THAT BEING SAID, This will make it to where the rules of each room can be enforced and help liven up the otherwise dead areas. Not all the users are of age and it really pushes away that crowd when they join the site to log into a dead general chat EVERYTIME.

Mods are here to enforce rules and help be mediators,not some fucking users with Bold text for names who sit afk 99% of the time. They should be active,sociable,friendly,and help make the overall chatroom more inviting to the users.

thanks for poining this out shade , i completely agree with you , ever since about couple months ago the "yff" room has been turned into the generalroom just with more sexual content itch i dont mind , but i do agree on the half that it should split the general rooms and yiff conversations . that way you do not have lrandom conversations all the time  in 1 room , it should be as stated in the list , and there are an unecessary amount of rooms in the list . i thought of this my self for a while now but i never thought of it as a bother .

1.  The chatrooms are designed as a global single contained codebase and data table, having 4 rooms, or having 30, takes up only the slightest difference in space.  There is a space reservation setup for chatroom buffering and it has never even encroached on half full.

2.  Say we have a really busy day and 400 people are spread across 30 chatrooms, or all in one chatroom, the load would be the same regardless, them being in one room or 30, wouldnt make any difference.

3.  This site is growing, eventually we will come to require a number of rooms or else the talking in the few rooms will be so excessive it would hinder their usage.  This site isnt meant to stay a small corner of the furry fandom, this site is built with the hope it can adsorb some of FAs thunder, and at the same time, put the evil dating site scammers out of business.  If the site were to explode to the point my own servers simply cannot run it anymore it would make me very happy, and tired as i do server upgrades.

Current Content Storage Usage: 12 GB on SSD2, Reservation: 45 GB on SSD2
Current System Storage Usage: 5.1 GB on SSD1, Reservation: 10 GB on SSD1
Current Logging Storage Usage: 2.5 GB on SSD4, Reservation: 16 GB on SSD4

The reservation does not reflect the actual size/capacity of the SSD Drives, but just what is Allocated or Restricted to the sole usage of each purpose.

Content = Images, uploaded files, music, php core, management tools, and a encrypted backup of the site which syncs to offsite.
Database = Accounts, Profile Data, Chatroom Text, Private Messages, Events, Forums, GPS Data, Store, Bookshelf Storys, Classifieds Postings, Friending Data, etc
System = The Operating System of the Server, VMware and Linux, and associated administrative tools for the physical server itself.
Logging = All system logs from Firewalls, Admin tools, user activities, system management logs, uptime tracking, error logs, access logs, etc, all .txt based.

Offsite CDN/Backup Server: 46 GB, Capacity: 1 TB
