Prologue

Screams echo down the corridor of the hospital as people are scurrying about. A wolf wearing a maroon cloak reached out his arm towards a female nurse, and twitched his paw, the nurse combusted into nothing, but a crimson stain of blood on the floor and wall. The crowded room was panicked and they all simultaneously ran for the door. He raised his hand toward the crowd, and slammed the doors shut, crushing a mans maw in between. "Dad!" A little pup screamed pulling on his dads lifeless corpse. The wolf in the cloak walked up behind the boy. "You will be with him shortly." the wolf said as he laid his paw atop his head.

The boy looked up at him crying and terrified. The wolf pushed forward slightly and the pup fell to his back. When he landed blood erupted out of his maw and nose. "You killed a poor incense, you monster!" A woman cried out in the crowd. The wolf looked up from the dead pup. " Oh, no mam. You have me all wrong. I cleansed this boy from the lies, terror, and disgust of this world." the wolf said eagerly, "I saved him, just like I am going to save all of you!" He raised up his arm and snap his fingers and one by one they fell to the floor spewing blood from every orifices of their body. "Now they will know the chaos they have unleashed." He said smiling.

Chapter one: The Crime Scene

"Detective?" a city cop asked. Turning away from the back rain pattered window of the squad car, Jak answered, "Yes?" The cop was hesitant to ask, Jak could sense it. "We're reaching the crime scene. Have you been briefed on the details?" Jak turned back to the window listening to the pitter-patter of the rain beating from it. "I have. There is no reason to be nervous. It's just a psycho in a red coat." Jak explained watching the rain drops collect and rolling to the back of the window. "Its not that. I mean it is, but to be honest I'm nerves as in why they called you to investigate." The cop said with fear shaking up his words as he continued, "Don't they only call you in for the big cases?" "Don't worry so much." Brandon, Jaks partner exclaimed. "We'll be fine as long as if you follow what Jak says." Jak letting out a sigh, "How many deaths? I didn't find anything about the death toll." he asked. "That's just it, we don't know. We keep finding bodies throughout the complex." The driver said, "We believe it to be in the fifty's, maybe more." He continued. Jak was actually surprised. He had seen murders in mass scale, but to him this was a slaughter. Who could have done this and how, he thought. Wouldn't someone try to resist? "Get ready detective we're approaching the building.

As they pulled in Jak kept having a horrible feeling about the place he was sent to inspect. He studied the building from the out side and looked up at the sign as it read, "Mercy Hospital and Mental Care Institution. Why here? He thought as a pat on his arm snapped him out of his daze. "You okay man?" Brandon said with a concerned look on his face. "Stop giving me that I care about you look. It doesn't suit a vulpine like you." Jak said sarcastically. "Hey listen here, if you wasn't to busy howling at the moon maybe you would have had this case solved by now." Brandon said in his rebuttal, playfully shoving Jak on the shoulder. Jak laughs a bit and starts to walk up the steps leading into the hospital. It looks strangely familiar now, but it didn't just awhile ago. What is going on with me today he thought. Something isn't right, something is missing and he can't see it. A sudden flash of light from a camera snapped him out of his thoughts. They walk into the building and the smell of blood was overbearing at first. There was body bags and blood all across the room. Jak went to one of the bags and unzipped it. There was a body of a female bunny who's chest was ripped open, exposing every organ, except her heart. The look of terror was etched in her face even after death Jak could feel her fear. Jak stood up from the body gaining back his alertness. "Was there security cameras?" Jak asked. "Yes sir, follow me." the cop from the ride over said.

As they was walking Jak kept silent out of respect for the bodies they was passing to get to the security room. The cop put on gloves and open the door to not tamper with any evidence. "There was only one tape that actually worked, but it was distorted and we couldn't make it out." The cop said in a low tone. "Play it." Jak said almost immediately. The cop put the disc in and hit play. The tape showed static, and the audio sounded the part as well. Jak focused on the video and his eyes turned from blue to yellow. He could see through the static, it shown a wolf in a maroon cloak with the hood up, killing patients, visitors and the staff one by one. After he had killed the last person ,he looked up at the camera, but there it wasn't like he was acknowledging the camera, but the person behind it. Finally, with a low almost faint whisper he said, "I see you detective." Jak focused more trying to get a better glimpse, but the more he was focusing the wolf started to blur out of view, the blur was heading to the stairs and then just vanished. Jaks eyes returned to blue. "Well, what did you see?" Brandon said anxiously. Jak looked around the room and then straight at the cop, "Has the hospital been searched?" The cop almost look surprised and offended at his question; nevertheless he swallowed his pride and responded, "Yes sir. We thoroughly searched the building and swept the premises." Brandonlooked shocked as well, "There not idiots, Jak. They know what their doing." Brandon said. Jak barged out of the room in a fast pace, Brandon following right behind. "What did you see Jak?!" Brandon exclaimed. "It's not what I saw that I'm worried about." Jak conjectured. "Um, I'm confused. What do you mean?" Brandon asked puzzling at his answer. "He saw me, Brandon. He looked right at me and said he sees me." Jak responded. Brandon didn't say a word, because of the sense of fear running down his spine. Jak turned a sharp corner and at a steady pace raced down the stairs to the morgue. "Why are we going down here exactly?" Brandon asked. "Are friend might still be here." Jak said follow the twist and turns to through the hospital.

Jak saw the door to the morgue and threw the side of his trench coat aside, grabbing his pistol almost instantaneously, Brandon followed in his lead doing the same. Jak slammed open the doors his partner and him both steadied their guns on opposite sides of the room. "Clear!" they both exclaimed simultaneously. "Search the area, see what you can find." Jak ordered. Brandon, started to search the file cabinets for any relevant information, as jak looked around the morgue, searching for clues. His eyes turned yellow once more as he started to see finger prints. "No good." Brandon said, "There is nothing here." Jak sighed and returned his vision to normal. "It's not good to disturb the dead you know." A familiar voice said from the entrance of the morgue. Jak and Brandon turned to the door both focusing there guns at him. "It's you again. The cop from the car right?" Brandon said holstering his gun. "Yeah. My name is Devor." He said smiling. "What do you want Devor?" Jak said still focusing his gun. Devor looked at Jak smiling and in a flash he kicked Jaks gun out of his hand and then swiftly hit him with a flat paw to the chest sending Jak flying back, slamming into the wall. "That should have killed you." Devor said looking at his paw, "Why..." He was interrupted as Brandon started to fire shots at him. Devor was to fast and appeared to have vanished in a flash. Suddenly he appeared out of nowhere behind Brandon. Brandon quickly tried to elbow him but Devor caught his arm and snapped it from the elbow. "That was rude." Devor said in annoyance. Brandon ran to Jak helping him back up. "What do we do?" Brandon asked hesitantly. Devor went back to the door and held his arms out as the walls and surrounding started to fade away like ash, replacing it with an odd factory surrounding with only two conveyor betls on the left and right side. Devor reached out snapping to two chains at least 3 feet wide each, controlling the conveyor belt. Jaks eyes turned from blue to yellow once more, as Brandon grabbed Jaks pistol focusing both of them at Devor. "What's the plan, Jak?" Brandon asked with a bead of sweat going down his cheek.......
