About Me: My name is Crevan. I'm a tall bearded guy that's been playing video games since a very young age. I'm a big fan of platformers and fighting games, but I've had a hard time getting back into them lately. With my busy work schedule and all the time I spend with a guitar in my lap, I fear I'm falling away from something I love. I'm a supporter of PC gaming and try to keep what I do on that platform; my poor Xbox is so dusty.
Games just aren't as fun alone, and I hope to find someone to share this with me. Games that stand out as my favorites include: Old Final Fantasys, Super Meat Boy, Trials, Old Kirby games, Sandbox (Minecraft/Starbound), The King of Fighters, Super Smash Bros, BlazBlue, Music/Rhythm (DDR/Rockband). Sadly I almost never play these types of games anymore because I'm losing interest fast. I hate Call of Duty, I hate games with a fake "hook" to keep you playing; I feel that standards have fallen. I like a game to force you to improve if you want to succeed and I'm hitting a plateau. Now I just play a lot of Team Fortress 2.
I love the guitar. I started playing late 2012 and since have tried as hard as I can to keep my fingers on the edge of blistering. I use a game called Rocksmith to practice and can be found streaming it fairly often as twitch.tv/crevanembrust . When it comes to music I'm extremely picky about what I like, but I love to play anything. I hate Iron Maiden, but they taught me a lot of things that I appreciate them for. The terms "Like" and "Respect" are very different. The kind of music I love is rarely on a guitar; indie techno artists really shine in my eyes. I like a lot of mainstream stuff too: Death Cab, Coldplay, Pendulum, Arcade Fire, Cake, The Offspring, The Faint, the list can go on and on. I'm not a huge fan of much new music, and it's making me feel like an old fogey. I'm not big on dubstep, hip-hop, country, or music where lyrics and singing are the main focus.
I think I have a fantastic sense of humor. I don't like to watch TV very often because shows like "Big Bang Theory" and "Duck Dynasty" or "Storage Wars" all drive me crazy. I really don't like watching movies either because my sense of humor seems to be different from most other people's. I don't want to hear jokes that are easy to make, but physical comedy still gets me. There's a long list of Anime I've seen and TV used to be a big part of my life, but in the last 5 years nothing seems to interest me anymore. MST3K helps me fall asleep along with old Saturday Night Live episodes, but I prefer interacting with what's going on rather than sitting back to watch. My idea of fascinating involves being shown the science of things I don't understand or the depiction of action scenes my imagination can't create for itself. Old men standing behind podiums with slideshows and speeches about what consciousness is for example. I'm also male, so the movies 300/Iron Man/The Matrix/Michael Bay Presents: Explosions!/etc. fuel something in me I enjoy. I like lazer-beams.
As I type this I smell like campfire, have cuts all over my hands from chopping wood, and have some stinky dogs. This weekend took me out to greenwater to camp with my friends. ("Pitch a tent, cook over a fire, drive around jeeps" camping, not at all the "find a cabin with electricity, use the public restroom, stay sober and dry" kind.) The outdoors has a habit of just making you feel good, even if I missed my electric guitar. I love hiking and plan to do a lot of it this summer once the snow is gone.
I have 3 dogs (wolf/husky/malamute/german+australian shepard cuties) and live with roommates for now, but it seems my life is ever-changing. I'd really love to find someone I could settle down and get a house with in an area off the beaten path. I use a lot of Marijuana but if you're anything like me you understand the benefits. I don't miss insomnia, for one.
I'm a fully content, happy person who sets and fulfills goals in my life. I don't like to complain or argue and I'm extremely, extremely patient. I don't need a relationship, my dogs make me very happy, but the idea of a partner I can talk with and play games/music with is too good to pass up.
